Projek Muhibah
My 1st visit to.. tata.. to a.. 1 room flat in Toa Payoh. They were always sayin.. how bad the place is.. how pathetic is the old people over there.. hey.. the truth is..
is true. I mean. erm.. the old man's house was totally in a mess. I mean real mess. Bedbugs on e bed. luckily there is "filmitation.. "wat.. e.. i mean.. "de-buggin" in e morn.. b4 we enter into e rm. Ashes.. black substance on e floor. It was dirty. Much much dirtier than vietnam. seriously.. I tried to scrub e toilet floor once. then, Mag. scrub it again.
after 4 - 5 hours of our effort, we managed to make e place "livable". Ma-hesh paint e living rm only. while, e others.. clean e floor, windows, toilet. Basically Anywhere that is not clean.
I think i felt a sense of satisfaction after cleaning the house.
jus to side-track abit. hmm.. today. the whole grp of volunteers.. are special. They look hip. hmm.. i nv c such hip volunteers b4. Ear-studs.. funky hairstyles. sporty looking..
then.. to my surprise. I realise that they are groups of lesbian. n gays.. hmm..
just to clarify. I am not taken aback that they have such preference. Jus surprise that almost 70% of them are not straight. Well.. hmm.. interesting.
I suppose anyone can volunteer. haha..
glad that I'm able to speak bit.. bit of Cantonese .. n Teochew. Finally, I can show off my Teochew n Cantonese. haha.. Though.. I know cant speak fluently.
One point. I realise that e old folks over there are quite optimistic. They also appreciate ur help. which i think .. actually we do very little for them.
After today, I know that I will hav no excuse for not cleaning my house. *sigh*
