TaIwan
8:40 PM
okie. after Jetsetting for almost 5 hrs, we finally reached Taiwan. Then, to our surprise, there were actually coach that will bring us to our hotel. It cost only S$7.50 = NT 135. We took the coach and reached our hotel at about 7 pm. Our hotel resides just in Hsi-men-Ting. The shopping district in Taipei. We check into our hotel before going out to do some shopping. The area looks abit like Far-east but it is open space. It was drizzling la.. cos it was quite ma fan to shop around. But, no choice lo..we just have to bear with it. We shopped till 11 pm (e last shop closes) before heading back to our hotel. But, being first timer.. we lost our way.. it was funny la.. cos it was all dark and the shops were closed. We couldn't recognise the streets too.. all look familiar and the same. We walked one big circle before finding our hotel and it took us like 15 min. We took a super long route.

On the second day, we decide to go Sun-Yet-Sun Memorial Hall before heading to the Taipei Main station ( the Taipei 101). It is very tall (right now, the tallest building in the world). The memorial hall.. nothing much to see .. But the space very big.. we saw some small children (less than 5 years old) playing football.. I think its a excursion la.. (saw a a teacher with them). Then, lookin up, we saw the tallest building and we just walked towards it..

The Taipei 101 has alot of shops in it.. those "classy" boutiques... very high-end kind. As we were a bit too early (10 am +), the shops were not open. Boutiques like Fendi, Coach, LV, Cartier.. so on..

Later, we decide to downgrade ourselves and go to the (wu fen pu) wholesalers market place at Hou pei zhan.Woah.. it is a big open area as well.. alot of small shops.. and the clothes are put into transparent bags (like a sack kind). The clothes sold there are cheaper than Hsi-men-ting. maybe by half? alot to choose from.. I was mad.. and I shopped like 8 tops and 2 bottoms.. total cost like < S$150. The tops are working tops la..except for one. We shopped till like 5 plus.. initally.. we wanted to go Shi-lin market from there.. but too tired .. in e end, we we went back to hotel.

On the third day, we went to Yang-ming shan. It was a tiring climb.. ha.. drizzling abit. We took a bus up the Yang ming shan. ha.. there were even aunties mistaken us as students (Wen hua university) which is located in Yang-ming shan. After that, we went to Dan shui and took a boat ride cost us like S$10/ person. Woah.. it was bit scary at first.. cos the boat gets further and further away from the jetty.. and when u look out, it was endless sea view.. nothing.. u don get to see any island or boats.. ha.. there was ktv on e boat la.. the aunties were belting out Hokkien (min- nan yu) songs.. while the boat goes shaky.. ha..

AFter that, we went back hotel before going to Shi-lin night market. It was very big.. there were many stalls.. alot.. alot.. we tried eating the chicken pa (very big, twice bigger than e one we ate in S'pore). We tried the oyster jian.. we tried the bubble tea... we tried the "ice-kachang" lookalike thing.. taste bit like yogurt.. by then.. we were damn full.. (we share everything la.. me n yian).. our mouths were munching non-stop when we reached the night market. WE WERE TOO FULL... so decide to walk further down to the night market shops.. it is big too.. there were many road stalls.. we din really shop around la.. just trying to enjoy e atmosphere of squeezing ha.. Finally.. get to see the "famous" shi-lin ye shi.. really an eye-opener.

On the last day, we decided not to roam around. so we just shop in Hsi-men-ting. We went to Chen ping 112. Saw this shoe.. i like but i din buy in e end.. cost like S$100 (after discount)But is really nice.. and the shoe size fits la.. after the shoe pedding. we went to the bookstore also..abit like KinoKuniya.. alot more chinese books.. i bought one chinese book. U know wat.. we manage to see Wu zhong xian (Jacky Wu).. He was doing this filming la.. lucky us.. ha.. he is short.. ha.. with a big tummy ha.. he sounds exactly like in tv also.. ha.. i film abit of him.. ha..

Very tired le.. ha.. after bloggin so much. shall upload my pics.. ha.. I enjoy this taiwan trip. It is memorable as it marks the first time i tried free and easy with Yian. We must plan our itinerary.. take the public transport.. it was fun. Getting lost (common for e first day but getting better as the days go along ha.. )

I hope my next trip will be as interesting as this one.. if not better.. where shall i go? Japan? Korea? Thailand? I give myself five years to save up for Europe trip.. =)
